Do you ever know the story behind the Easter celebration?
Easter is a celebration of Jesus Christ’s resurrection from the dead. It is Christianity’s most important holiday; it has been called a moveable feast because it doesn’t fall on a set date every year, as most holidays do. And this year it falls on April. Christians believe Jesus was crucified on Good Friday and rose again three days later. The three days are known as the Easter Triduum.
Why is it that on Easter Sundays we have the Easter Eggs?
Even before the birth of Christianity, the egg was seen as a symbol of spring, a celebration of the rebirth and reinvigoration after the harshness of winter. The gesture of giving eggs at Easter has been traced back to Egyptians, Persians, Gauls, Greeks and Romans. Back then the egg was a symbol of life. In the present day, Easter eggs are elaborately decorated and became more commercially available.
Happy Easter Everyone! He is Risen! Let’s celebrate this day with a grateful heart!
